El Sur is a culture forward site for Tucson’s Latinx community. Nuestras historias honran las diferentes formas de expresar nuestra Latinidad mas allá del Español. Tucson’s rich history has cemented our City as one of the cultural epicenters of the Southwest. The Tucson International Mariachi Conference, Agave Heritage Festival, and Pueblos de Maíz are right around the corner. We’re also keeping a close eye on Visit Tucson’s ¡Tucson Es Tu Casa! campaign. The effort is reaching out to Latinx audiences across the U.S., inviting them to connect with their roots here. Remember Chef Maria Mazon? She blew up as a Top Chef finalist last year. This year she is featured in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places y en el New York Times y es toda una embajadora de nuestra cultura. A la misma vez, empresarios como Daniel Cordova y German Fuentes están invirtiendo en hangouts populares con la raza: La Chingada, Cruda, The Neighborhood. From every direction, our culture is driving Tucson forward.
